Dog Acts Afraid Of Floor
Is your dog scared of your kitchen floor.
Dog acts afraid of floor. Your dog doesn t want to be isolated. Hi my just over 1yr old standard poodle has all of a sudden become afraid of walking on hardwood flooring. My black labrador female dog became afraid of walking on the laminate and cushion floor after i had her spaded. You are not alone.
In addition to this your dog may be reacting to something you can t hear. Sometimes dogs can act quite weird and some of the oddest behaviors happen around the food bowl. This could be crumbs on the floor or even bugs. When she realizes that she walked on the laminate to get to a mat she will actually stay on the mat and cry.
Some dogs might be afraid of vermin and act scared whenever they catch their scent or hear them moving in the walls. Some dogs act scared of the food bowl others will move the food bowl around and some others will nitpick a mouthful of kibble and then eat it off the floor. This is distressing for the dog because canines are pack animals. This can be hard for you to do if you see your dog struggling but the less of a big deal you make of it the easier it will be for your dog to snap out of it too.
If your dog is fearful try to carry on as you usually would and act like the fear isn t a big deal. I have come across many dogs that were either rescues or not socialized enough that are afraid of walking on certain surfaces. Also he just doesnt seem himself like he is stressed out about it all. For example some owners have reported that thunderstorms miles away affect their dogs behavior.
The most common surfaces are usually slippery ones such as laminate tile linoleum or metal such as manhole covers on the street vents etc. It started a few days ago with timid steps and now he all together avoids them. Major problem as my entire main floor is hardwood. When a dog is afraid of hardwood floors it means the dog is afraid to traverse some areas of the home.
They ll sniff and search around looking for nourishment. There could be several things happening at home while you re away causing your dog distress. Dogs are creatures of habit and their stomachs will rumble if their schedule is tampered with. It seems she is coming around with the cushion floor but not having any luck with the laminate.
As canines are natural hunters your dog may take matters into their own hands.
