Do It Yourself Throw Rug Made From Old Geans
Giant braided denim rug notjustahousewife.
Do it yourself throw rug made from old geans. This project is easy to sew and can be finished in less than an hour. The legs of the old jeans can be repurposed into a boho denim table runner or some boho jeans pillows. I made a huge diy rug 5 8 from scratch with just a handful of supplies. This rug is made mainly with the legs of old jeans.
The pockets can be used to make some handy hanging pocket storage or even sunglasses cases. Disassemble a pair of jeans and use the legs to get the longest strips. Instead of throwing out your old blue jeans craft them into an attractive and functional rug. Don t throw away the scraps even they can be repurposed.
The circular pattern is lovely. You just need some old jeans scissors yarn one clothespin and a piece of cardboard cut to the size you want your rug to be. Recycling can be an economical way to decorate your home. This large braided jeans rug was definitely a labour of love.
And you can make one too any size you want. I desperately needed a new rug and i tirelessly searched for one that i absolutely loved that was also. I made this last week and couldn t believe how easy it was. Or even to make some jeans planters.
I would estimate about six pairs were used for this blue jean rug upcycle. I wanted a fairly large rug so i just cut a piece of cardboard measuring 4 x 6. Cut at least 28 strips at 2 wide for this runner although you may need more or less if you decide to use a different size. After my diy weaving project i felt like i needed another challenge so i decided to tackle another large scale project that s been on my list a diy rug from scratch.
Don t use any of the seams just the fabric. Here s a great diy tutorial to make a recycled rug out of old denim. These again is a no sew denim project.
